One fine morning in Kerala,
At 7 a. m, according to our custom,
I opened the front door,
And bent down for my to Mms,
I mean Manorama and milk,
But I was baffled, the Mms were at neck level,
Floating and going round round,
Suddenly I felt a chilling cold,
Shivering and wetness, and speechless,
Realising, I was a prisoner of water,
Under house arrest.
As I stood there, condemned
Motionless, the rising water tightened
Its stranglehold, the cold embrace
Tightening, I heard a thundering shout,
As an army of filth, advancing from
All sides, with war cries and converging,
On me ; plastic bottles spearheading the assault,
Followed by proofs of my sins,
Committed , under cover of darkness,
Against Mother Nature.
All that I dumped poured forth,
Napkins, torn bags, worn -out shoes,
Expired medicines, plastic bags,
And used and unused condoms.
The bottle leader mocked,
' Sir, the chickens have come home to roost,
It's payback time.'😢😢😢
