These are extremely bad days in Kerala due to many reasons. Firstly, the shock waves triggered by the brutal murder of Jisha, a poor Dalith student. The shoddy way in which this case has been handled has generated a volcanic eruption of indignation, frustration and anger among the general public.
This is not the first time that poor girls have been the targets of unspeakable torture, rape and murder. When a sesational case erupts, there's an outcry, but the incident is soon forgotten till another incident surfaces. In effect, Kerala has become a dangerous place for women and girls.
The ' human rights ' activists who support criminals and prisoners are to be blamed for encouraging potential killers to commit rape and murder with impunity. In their dictionary, 'human' means 'killer '.It's Okay to rape and murder an innocent girl, eg Soumya, but her killer must live comfortably. The rapists are emboldened by the fact that there are activists who will support them.
The only solution to the ill -treatment of women is to impose the death penalty on offenders. A rapist should be put to death. Until this is implemented in India, the brutality against women will continue unabated.
Kerala is becoming a banana Republic or a failed state. Kerala has failed to protect the weak and vulnerable sections of the society. The irresponsible manner in which the post mortem of Jisha was conducted is the solid proof of a failed state. This is not an isolated case. The Paravoor fireworks disaster showed the lack of accountability. In Kerala, there's a general lack of respect for human life and human dignity.
