His name was Honey

(Tribute to Madhu, the young Tribal who was brutally killed by
so-called civilized people in Kerala )


His name was Madhu, or honey
Oh, what a sweet name!
But the sweetness is gone forever.
Madhu was young and innocent
He didn't know the ways of the civilized world,
He was a child of Nature, and sought
Freedom and safety in a cave,
From the civilized wolves.
But the honey of life was drained
From that frail little body,
By the ferocious wolves.

Madhu's only fault was that
He thought rice was for taking,
That rice was for his empty stomach,
And he paid with his life.

In Kerala, formerly God's own country,
Presently Criminals' paradise,
Madhu was caught, red-handed,
With a handful of rice,
Bound, assaulted, humiliated,
Questioned, tortured and selfied,
Dragged like Christ to Gogoltha.
And left to die like a street dog.

The self-declared God's own country
Crumbles like a pack of cards,
The civilized wolves retreat
For now, only to reappear,
For new prey.
Crocodile tears rain,
On the parched wasteland.
