Dear VS, Oommen Chandy, KM Mani and other politicians
With boundless humility, and respect, we, the ordinary, impartial people of Kerala submit this for your kind consideration and favourable response.
Today, in Kerala, a lot of people are experiencing high tension and stress due to the political upheavals that are unfolding every moment, as the preparations for the elections gather momentum. The tension is due to many deserving aspirants being denied seats to contest the elections. There are many leaders, across party lines, who are capable of becoming MLAs or ministers, but they don't get a chance in their lifetime, because the political equations are skewed against them. Meanwhile, there are veteran politicians like you who have been in the Assembly for ages. With all due respect and immense appreciation for the contribution you have made, it would be appropriate at these difficult times to suggest that you step down voluntarily to make room for the younger leaders and women to prove their capabilities as MLAs and Ministers.
In Kerala, we say,"stop singing 🎶 while the voice is still good ." You have had a distinguished career in public life ,and we want to see your names in history in golden letters 🔤 ,not otherwise .Dark clouds of defeat are gathering in the political sky ,and shock defeats cannot be ruled out .
A reduced majority, or a wafer -thin majority can be regarded as a defeat, and a reflection of the people's 😒 dissatisfaction. Isn't it wise to exit with dignity, like Pope Benedict, who set a good example by stepping down when he realized that things were getting tough.
In the early 1960s,people used to worry, asking, "after Nehru, who? ".After Nehru, many PMs have come and gone, but the country is still thriving. Similarly, people used to ask, "after Sathyan, who? ".After Sathyan, many actors have come and gone, but Malayalam cinema 🎦 is still thriving.
Therefore, we appeal to all leaders above 70 to step down
voluntarily and peacefully so that younger leaders (in Kerala politics,60 is very young) can get a chance to prove their mettle.
Kind regards
The impartial people
