Dear rain, go away (Instant poem)

Dear rain, go away,
I beg you, stooping to rock bottom,
Have mercy on us, on us Malayalees,
Suffering the worst of the worsest,
Lashed , drenched and tossed ,
By your insatiable fury, or at least,
Give us a short break, till we find,
Escape roots from this cursed land.
Dear rain, our darling of the past,
What error have we done,
To deserve this disaster, consecutively?
A short break, and release the hijacked Sun,
And close the doomed clouds,
And save us from eternal damnation.

Dear rain, gorgive our trespasses,
It's true we have defied you,
We have destroyed Mother Nature,
We have resurrected Sodom and
Gomora here, in Kerala, the former Heaven,
Give us another chance,
As done by the prodigal son's dad,
Give us another chance, I beg you.

വൈഗ കൊലക്കേസ് (Viewpoint)

കേരളത്തിൽ ഹാപ്പി ആയിരിക്കാൻ സാധിക്കുമോ? Yes ഉം No യും പറയാൻ സാധിക്കും. നമ്മുടെ പേഴ്‌സണൽ ചുറ്റുപാടുകൾ അനുകൂലവും ഹാപ്പിയും ആയിരിക്കാം. പക്ഷേ രാജ്യത്തു നടക്കുന്ന സംഭവങ്ങൾ വീക്ഷിക്കുമ്പോൾ മനസാക്ഷിയും മനുഷ്യത്വവും ഉള്ള ആളുകൾക്ക് unhappy ആകാനെ കഴിയൂ. പുതിയ സിനിമകൾ വരുന്നു, കുറേ കഴിഞ്ഞ് നമ്മൾ അവയെ മറക്കുന്നു. ഇതുപോലെയാണ് കൊലക്കേസുകളും. ഉത്തര എന്ന യുവതിയെ ഭർത്താവ് പാമ്പിനെ ഉപയോഗിച്ച് കടിപ്പിച്ചു കൊന്നത് രണ്ട് വർഷം മുൻപാണ്. കൂടത്തായിയും വാർത്തകളിൽ നിറഞ്ഞു നിന്നു.പുതിയ കേസുകൾ വന്നപ്പോൾ അവ പഴയ സിനിമകൾ പോലെ ആയി. ഇപ്പോഴിതാ വൈഗ കൊലക്കേസ് നാടിനെ ഞെട്ടിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. ക്രിമിനോളജി വീട്ടിലിരുന്ന് പരസഹായം കൂടാതെ പഠിക്കാവുന്ന ഒരു വിഷയമാണ്. കേരളത്തിലെ കേസുകൾ പഠിച്ചാൽ മതി. ഒരു കൊലയാളി ഒരേ സമയം ഒരു മണ്ടനും ബുദ്ധിമാനും ആണ്. കൊല ഭംഗിയായി ചെയ്യുന്നതിനും തെളിവ് നശിപ്പിക്കുന്നതിനും അയാൾ ബുദ്ധിമാനാണ്. സ്വന്തം കുട്ടിയെ കൊന്ന സനു മോഹൻ ആ കൊലയിൽ ബുദ്ധി പ്രയോഗിച്ചു. പിടിക്കപ്പെടാതെ 27 ദിവസം പല സംസ്ഥാനങളിൽ കറങ്ങി. മൊബൈലും ATM കാർഡും ഉപയോഗിച്ചില്ല. എന്നാൽ കൊല്ലൂരിൽ ഒരു ഹോട്ടലിൽ സ്വന്തം ആധാർ കൊടുത്തു. അത്...

ചില 1960 sports ഓർമ്മകൾ

പറക്കും സിഖ് എന്നറിയപ്പെട്ടിരുന്ന, ഇന്ത്യയുടെ എക്കാലത്തെയും മികച്ച athlete Milkha Singh ഓർമ്മയായി.1960 മുതൽ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ പേര് കേൾക്കുന്നു. ആ പഴയ കാലത്തേക്ക് ഒന്ന് തിരിഞ്ഞു നോക്കുകയാണ് ഇവിടെ. അന്ന് ജനങ്ങൾ വാർത്തകളെ എങ്ങനെ കണ്ടു എന്നതും ഇവിടെ ഓർത്തു നോക്കുകയാണ്. അന്ന് വാർത്തകൾ അറിയാൻ പത്രങ്ങൾ മാത്രമേയുള്ളൂ. അത് എല്ലാവരും വായിച്ചിരുന്നില്ല. വരിക്കാർ ആകാൻ പണം ഇല്ലാത്തവർ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. വായിക്കാൻ അറിയാത്തവർ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. പൈകയിൽ കടക്കാർക്കുള്ള പത്രം കട തിണ്ണയിൽ ഇടും. കട തുറക്കുന്നത് പിന്നീടാണ്. ചുമട്ടു തൊഴിലാളികളിൽ ഭൂരിപക്ഷത്തിനും വായിക്കാൻ അറിയില്ലായിരുന്നു. എന്നാൽ വാർത്തകൾ അറിയാൻ അവർക്ക് താല്പര്യം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. വായിക്കാൻ അറിയാവുന്ന ആരെങ്കിലും വായിക്കും. മറ്റുള്ളവർ കേട്ടിരിക്കും. ഇന്ന് നമ്മൾക്ക് വാർത്തക്കും entertainment നും നൂറായിരം sources ഉണ്ട്. അതുകൊണ്ട് tip of the iceberg ൽ തൊടാൻ മാത്രമേ നമുക്ക് സമയമുള്ളു. 1960ൽ sources ഉം വിഷയങളും കുറവായിരുന്നു. അതുകൊണ്ട് ഉള്ള വിഷയങളിൽ എല്ലാവരും concentrate ചെയ്തിരുന്നു. അങ്ങനെയാണ് മിൽഖാ സിങ് ഇന്ത്യക്കാരുടെ അഭിമാന താരം ആയത്.1960ലെ ...
