May 16th will be a day to be remembered in India, like June 16th in S.
Africa. Whatever be the outcome of the elections in India, the people of
India have already won. The victory is in terms of the peaceful manner
in which millions and millions of people throughout the country exercised
their democratic right without fear or undue pressure. It was the most
amazing democratic process in human history. Despite the flaws in the
system in India, it's the only option available to the people. They have the
power to unseat those in power, using the ballot box.
May 16th is the day of the counting of votes. All kinds of exit polls
have already been done. All scenarios have been exhausted. Tomorrow's
headlines can run like this :

'' BJP 35 seats short of majority.''
'' Congress routed in many states.''
'' Modi to be the new P.M. "
'' Jayalalitha, Mamatha and Naveen offer conditional support.''
'' Setback for AAP."
KERALA
UDF 12, LDF 8
'' Even though our seats are reduced, we have the people's support.''
