THE DUCKS OF ARUVIKKARA ( SHORT PLAY )

   The   characters 1.  Kunjan  ( 40)  :  a  casual  labourer  2. Ammini  (35)  : his  wife 30th   June  2015 ( A small house in the Aruvikkara  Constituency. 11 a.m. Ammini is  feeding goats in the yard. She is very upset about something. Enter  Kunjan, in a happy mood. He is carrying  a duck.}             Kunjan Hey,dear, why are you very gloomy today?              Ammini Oh,nothing. It's only a minor headache. Why did you buy an extra duck? The duck that you bought two weeks ago is already cut and ready for cooking. Why do you waste money in these difficult times,buying ducks almost every week?                        Kunjan I shall explain it shortly. I know you are very upset about  the LDF's rout. Forget it. There's no use crying over spilt milk. I used to tell you time and again that LDF means the Lost Democratic Front. Now I'm  vindicated. I didn't expect such a resounding victory  for Sabareenath. He is carrying a duck)                               Ammini Chetta, why do you bring that duck?                                                   Kunjan You know,there will be an acute shortage of ducks on the  vote-counting day.So I am pre-empting the impending  shortage.                                       Ammini What  do you  mean by that?                   Kunjan  I mean, out of the 16 candidates, 13 will be ducks. I want to celebrate  UDF victory, with this duck roasted.                Ammini Don't  build castles in the air. The Unpopular  Democratic Front is going to bite the dust. MISERABLE TIMES FOR MAGGI AND KFC

Nowadays  a small  camera can wreak  havoc in the world, destroying global business empires. Sometimes  people say, referring to God, '' Don't do evil, there's somebody watching from above.'' This is enough to force God-fearing people to think twice before doing evil. But nowadays, the fear of the camera is the most effective deterrent ,because cameras are aimed at you from above, below, on the sides, and only God knows from what unknown  and unimaginable angles that we come under the  spotlight. CCTV cameras  are a boon to the traffic police, shopkeepers, private homes, jewellers etc etc in catching the culprits who intrude or steal ,and commit traffic offences. Almost every day, some theft is committed in the jewelleries in Kerala. The thieves, mostly women, enter the jewelleries, pretending to be 'customers', and get away with some stuff.
